Starting in July 2017, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology, Karlsruhe, is a new shareholder of the EICT. With this cooperation EICT further develops its strong network in south-west Germany. With the FZI, another partner form the region now joins EICT after Daimler AG and the PTV Group. 

With this partnership the FZI will further expand its research collabortaions on autonomous and connected driving relying on the EICT experts for the coordination and communication of research and innovation projects in the field of mobility. ECIT will address the strategic topics realted to automation in the context of existing and new research collaborations of the FZI. 

This is where the expertise of the EICT takes effect strengthening the link between the automotive industry and research in the course of digitization.The TechCenter a-drive or the development of the test field autonomous driving Baden-Württemberg are already existing common fields of work.
