EICT held a one-day workshop with scientists of the Charité Berlin, the Technical University and the Free University Berlin on “The impact chapter in Horizon 2020 proposals”. How explicit does the intended impact need to be described, in which chapters should the topic be addressed and in what way?

The EICT experts introduced the concept of impact and the expectations towards the impact chapters in EU project proposals of the current funding period. They paid special attention to the unique demands on public research institutions like universities and their research efforts in the context of these projects and how they can be met. Examples and best-practice approaches for writing a successful proposal were introduced before the participants applied these in smaller working groups drafting exemplary impact chapters based on their own project ideas. Further practical tips and feedback concluded the successful workshop.
