simTD final event in Frankfurt after successful FOT
On June 20th, 2013, the research project simTD presented its hybrid system of car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure communication – so called car-to-x communication. At the fairgrounds in Frankfurt/Main more than 350 participants from industry, academia and politics were welcomed to the final event of the project. The result was: The simTD technology makes driving more efficient, more economical and safer.
More than 20 representatives from TV, print and online media attended the press conference in which the project results were presented to the public. At the subsequent expert conference simTD experts showed technology, field test and results of the project as well as a preview of the forthcoming implementation of the car-to-x technology. Accompanying, the participants had the opportunity to learn more about additional results of simTD and discuss the future of mobility with experts at an exhibition.
The highlight of the event were the driving demonstrations in real traffic. For this purpose, a total of 17 cars and two motorcycles of the project partners were available. More than 250 visitors took advantage of this opportunity and participated in a demonstration run. That way they were able to experience the simTD system in real operation.
The EICT was responsible for the project planning, organization and implementation of the final presentation as well as the production of all information materials and the project film.
