4th European Workshop on Software Defined Networks
In close cooperation with the University of the Basque Country, and with the EU-funded projects UNIFY and FELIX as technical partners, EICT co-organises the 4th European Workshop on Software Defined Networks (EWSDN).
Software defined networking (SDN) is a promising architectural solution to support and foster innovation in telecommunication networks. Several switch and router vendors are “opening” their hardware, offering APIs to allow for “software defined” control of the networking operations.
The conference attendees should expect active participation from industry and academia, a refreshing “no-hype, no marketing” zone which provides for new insights, ample space for networking and new initiatives. The EWSDN 2015 program features keynotes by industry leaders, paper presentations and demonstrations. In addition, the program includes two tutorials, one organized by the FELIX project which creates a common EU-Japanese framework in which users can request, monitor and manage a slice provisioned over distributed and distant Future Internet Experimental Facilities. Moreover, the program includes a UNIFY tutorial. This European project pursues an open innovation environment for telecommunication services leveraging on both networking and cloud resources, similar to mobile application ecosystems.
